Most repairs just glue it back — the same way it was done the first time.

Undermount sinks on granite or stone are mounted from below using adhesive and small metal clips. Under the weight of a full sink, heat from hot pots, and years of moisture cycling, that system eventually lets go. It's not your fault — it's a flawed installation standard.
Repeated loading from dishes and water stresses adhesive bonds never designed to hold indefinitely.
Hot pots and steam slowly degrade the epoxy between the sink rim and the underside of the stone.
Once the seal starts to go, water wicks into the cabinet top — swelling the wood and accelerating the drop.
Most sinks were put in with minimal clips and basic epoxy — not built to last 10–15 years under real use.
Plumbing and disposal disconnected. We check the sink rail and cabinet top for water damage before finalizing scope — no surprises after we start.
Old adhesive scraped off the stone underside. Swollen or rotted wood dried and repaired or replaced as needed.
We fabricate and install the GPPS Structural Sink Support System™ — a custom plywood ledger with steel brackets anchored to the cabinet frame. Weight transfers into the structure, not the adhesive. This is what most repairs skip.
Fresh two-part epoxy, new clips, sink pulled tight to the countertop. Perimeter sealed to keep moisture out of the seam.
Plumbing and disposal back in, everything tested. You're in service with a sink that's actually supported.
Our installation includes ½" plywood reinforcement on the cabinet sides to ensure we're anchoring into material with known strength — regardless of what the original substrate is. The support brackets and plywood together take up a modest amount of space inside the cabinet, typically 2–3 inches of vertical clearance directly under the sink opening. For most cabinets this doesn't affect daily use, but we'll walk you through exactly what goes in and where before we start. No surprises.
Single-basin undermount sink, granite countertop, Northern NJ. The adhesive and clips failed — the same way they eventually fail on every undermount sink. Here's the support system we installed and the result.

Sink fell away from the granite. The ¼" lip gave adhesive almost nothing to grip.

New plywood ledger with steel brackets anchored into the cabinet frame. The sink no longer depends on adhesive or the countertop lip — the structure carries the load independently.

Side view: plywood panel tied into the ledger via L-bracket. Load into the frame, not the stone.

Ledger and bracket at top, drain reconnected below. Structure carries the sink — plumbing carries nothing it shouldn't.

Sink flush to the granite, sealed, plumbing reconnected and tested. Backed by a 5-year warranty on the GPPS Structural Sink Support System™.
You can get someone to re-epoxy it in an hour. That's exactly how it was done the first time — and here you are.
